Bananas Foster
¼ cup butter
½ cup brown sugar firmly packed
4 ripe bananas peeled and split lengthwise
1/8 tsp cinnamon
½ cup white rum
¼ cup banana liqueur
1 pint vanilla ice cream OR 1 cup whipped cream
Melt butter and brown sugar in flat chafing dish or attractive skillet. Add bananas in single layer and sauté. Turn once for five minutes or until tender. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Pour rum and banana liqueur. Ignite with match, remove from the heat. Baste bananas until the flame bunrs out.
Serve at once with ice cream or whipped cream.
