Sauerkraut
4 slices of browned bacon
1 chopped brown onion
1 grated potato (drain and rinse)
1 can of sauerkraut (drain and rinse)
1 cup of chicken broth
2/3 cup of apple sauce
1 Tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp caraway seeds
Saute the bacon and the onion until the bacon is cooked and the onion is brown, set it aside.
Combine the potato, sauerkraut, chicken broth, apple sauce, brown sugar and caraway seeds in a pan. Allow the mixture to simmer for 30 minutes
Add the bacon and onion. Stir into the mixture.
Remove to serving dish.
Great side dish with Hungarian Pork chops
